Would you like to see your little ones competing at the Olympics, or how about starring in an ice show or doing their first spin?
Well the new Fast Graphics Junior Figure Skating Academy at the National Ice Centre could be just what you need to make your little one’s dreams come true.
We are looking for new talent to join the Academy which is especially for young skaters aged between four and six years old.
Under the expert guidance of World and Olympic coach, Gurgen Vardanjan, it will give youngsters the opportunity to learn the skills they need to become a figure skater.
Gurgen said: “The children will be taught skating fundamentals including edges, turns, stops, spins and jumps along with specific off ice training. The course will be instructed entirely by our professional coaches, and they will receive both group tuition and individual attention during their lessons. This is the perfect place to get them started in the sport.”
If you would like to get involved, we are holding open auditions here at the National Ice Centre on...
Registration is from 1pm and the auditions will be held off ice in the Dance Studio where the Director of Skating and Head Coach will select those youngsters with the desire and aptitude to become a figure skater.
Tony Bates, Managing Director of Fast Graphics Ltd who are sponsoring the Academy said: “Fast Graphics are delighted to be involved in the exciting new Junior Academy. We are extremely proud to be based in Nottingham and support local initiatives wherever possible. This opportunity was perfect for us, supporting our young people and further developing the great asset we have in The National Ice Centre.”
If your child is lucky enough to be selected to join the Junior Figure Skating Academy sessions will take place twice a week on a Wednesday and Saturday with each two hour session costing £16 (an hour of on-ice followed by an hour of off-ice).
Places at the auditions are limited so if you’d like to reserve your place, please email Janet Wass, Ice Sports Administrator.
