Okanagan Hockey School (OHS) is pleased to announce the Nottingham Summer Programme. Taking place at the National Ice Centre from Monday 10 to Friday 14 August 2015, there will be three separate, full day camps for players of all abilities from ages 5 to 15. Fully integrated camps for goalies at all levels are also provided in the programme.

Development Camp, age 5-10 years (£225 per person)
The Development Camp is designed for male and female players aged 5 – 10, with less than three years’ experience. Ideal for the hockey player who has mastered the basics and now wants to make some big strides forward in their game.
This camp focuses on the fundamentals of individual skill development, both on and off the ice and operates alongside the Integrated Development Camp for goaltenders.

Further information can be found here.

Advanced Development Camps, age 9-15 years (£260 per person)
There are two Advanced Development Camps both with the same aim – to help male and female hockey players improve their skills and move their overall game to the next level. Players should have over three years playing experience and will be grouped according to age (one group aged 9 – 11 and another group aged 12 – 15). Both camps operate alongside Integrated Advanced Development Camps for goaltenders.

The Advanced Development camp focuses on the refinement of fundamental skills, both on and off the ice, while advancing into more complex and sophisticated drills and teaching techniques.

OHS UK are delighted to be able to confirm the return of Elite League Nottingham Panthers Coach Corey Neilson.
Neilson joined the Panthers as a player in 2006 before being appointed as player-coach in 2008 and he has led the club to an Elite League championship, five Challenge Cups and three Playoff championships. He has also represented the Great Britain national ice hockey team at the IIHF World Championships in 2010-2012, worked as the Great Britain Assistant Head Coach and was drafted 53rd overall in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.

He brings a wealth of experience to the coaching team and over the past six years he has helped develop some of the best British players in the UK game.  As well as running camps back home in Canada, he has previously headed camps here in the UK. He has a very disciplined, but fun approach and pays close attention to detail.

Speaking after agreeing to return this year, Neilson said:  "I am looking forward again to being part of the Okanagan Hockey School team in Nottingham. I always enjoy working with the kids and helping them to improve their game. It’s fun to keep an eye open for the kids who could develop into the Panthers of the future."

Okanagan Assistant GM Paul Kelsall commented: "It’s fantastic to have once again secured the services of Corey for the OHS Nottingham Camp. Having someone of Corey's stature and ability at the camp is fantastic for the program, but more importantly for the participants.

"He has very strong values in his approach to development, he is great on the ice with the kids and is a fantastic teacher.
