Ice dancing draws inspiration from ballroom dancing and it is performed to both popular and traditional music. It is elegant and dazzling and does not have the jumps, over head lifts or extended spins you see in pairs skating.

Ice Dancing has different rules and a greater emphasis is placed on the way a couple move to the music. Nottingham ice skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean dominated this sport in the 80’s winning four consecutive World Championships and an Olympic Gold medal.

How do I get involved?
