Looking for something fast paced, fun and exhilarating, then Speed Skating is the sport for you! Reaching speeds of up to 60km/hr, this adrenaline filled sport is a mixture of thrilling fun and excitement!
The National Ice Centre is the perfect venue for you to take to the ice for speed skating. Not only can you benefit from its world class facilities but it is also home to the GB Short Track Speed Skating Squad who train daily at the venue.
It couldn’t be easier to start, even if you have never touched the ice before. Simply join up to Skate UK to learn the basic skating skills. See Skate UK section for further information.
Once you have passed Skate UK Level 4, you can progress onto the Skate UK Speed Skating six week course, £42.00 per course per child and £52.00 for adults.

Nottingham Ice Racing Club
The Nottinghamshire Ice Racing Club was formed on 30th August 1948. Since then we have had many skating successes in Olympic, World and European Championships. Many of our members have won British Championships, at all different age categories. We have also had many British Records, individual and team. Our skaters, and the club overall, have been winning competitions throughout Europe for many years now.
