National Ice Centre Skaters Take Centre Stage
The Olympics may be over but that doesn’t mean the competitions have finished for ice skaters at the National Ice Centre.
Monday 1st March saw 11 NIC skaters competing at the Romford Open Figure Skating Competition in Essex.
Our skaters put on a shining performance against 157 other competitors from all over the country, with four skaters scooping 1st place and fantastic results from everyone else –
Luke Sidebottom – 1st Beginner Men
Rebecca Gillespie – 1st Beginner Ladies
Kirsty Meadon – 3rd Beginner Ladies
Chloe Hutchinson – 8th Beginner Ladies
Lucy Forest – 7th Level One Ladies Aged 11 & Under
Ellie Baguley – 8th Level One Ladies Aged 11 & Under
Ella Nakulski – 2nd Level One Ladies Aged 12 & Over
Will Lambton – 6th Level One Men
Jake Hutchinson – 1st Level One Men
Kaia Boylan-Kemp – 5th Level Three Ladies
Hannah Tingay – 1st Level Three Ladies
NIC Coach Tristan Cousins said: “All the NIC skaters performed extremely well and received the biggest medal tally in the competition by far. The judges all gave very positive feedback to each skaters look, technique and overall standard!”
