Try Before You Buy!

Ice Skating is a perfect way to use your primary PE & Sport Premium by giving your pupils a “broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils.” Noted as key indicator number 4 taken from DfE guidance document.

This 1 week free taster is available to all schools that have not taken part in our 6 week schools ice skating programme before at the National Ice Centre – all you are required to do is cover the cost of the transport.

By signing up to the programme each school will receive:
– A safety briefing to support the group prior to stepping on the ice
– 1 week taster of our learn to skate programme for one class of 30/32
– 40 minute group skating lesson
– 20 minutes free time to practice what the children have learnt
– discount voucher sheet for each child enabling them to continue their learn to skate journey

  • Spring 1: Monday 6 January, 13 January, 20 January, 27 January, 3 February, 10 February 2020
  • Summer 1: Monday 20 April, 27 April, 11 May, 18 May, 25 May 2020
  • Approx schedule:
    Pick up from school: 12.45pm (dependant upon location)
    Arrival at the NIC: 1.15pm
    Skates on and briefing: 1.15pm
    Skating lesson: 1.30pm
    Free time: 2.10pm
    Off Ice: 2.30pm
    Depart: 2.45pm

Who is this session suitable for:
The session is suitable for KS1 upwards – we have experience of working with foundation school children and would welcome you take advantage of this opportunity.  The ice skating programme is a great way to learn a new skill, boost confidence, have fun and keep fit!

Transport:
By working in partnership with the Nottingham City Council transport team we arrange best price transport for your trip to the ice rink.

County/Outer Areas Transport
The price for is £130.00 + Vat – Single Deck Coach
The price for is £160.00 + Vat – Double Deck Coach

Booking Information:
We anticipate this opportunity programme being popular and recommend that you get in touch as soon as possible.  All applications are on a first come, first served basis.  We will arrange an invoice to be raised for the cost of the transport after the session has taken place.
