JUNIOR LEARN TO PLAY ICE HOCKEY

Working with the English Ice Hockey Association (EIHA), our experienced ice hockey coaches teach and develop players from grass roots level.

Six-week learn to play ice hockey courses are available for children under the age of 16. These courses can be joined upon completion of grade five skating lessons and are available to book online below.

There are six grades to achieve in order to learn to play ice hockey:

Six 30 minute group lessons – Minimum kit requirement of helmet with face mask, throat protector, gloves, own hockey stick and own hockey skates.
Six one hour group lessons – Full equipment is required to participate.

ADULT LEARN TO PLAY ICE HOCKEY

Six-week learn to play ice hockey courses are available for adults from the age of 18 +. These courses can be joined upon completion of grade five skating lessons and are available to book online:

SQUIRTS ICE HOCKEY PROGRAMME

For the slightly younger, we run a Squirts programme specially designed for young, grass roots players aged 4-7.  To participate, children need to have had experience on the ice on either public skating sessions or the parent & toddler sessions, or have completed grade two skating lessons.

They are also required to wear a helmet with face mask and bring their own hockey stick and hockey skates – don’t worry if you don’t have all the items, they can be hired them from the NIC at a cost of £1 per week (which must be paid at the time of booking).

BARRIER HOCKEY

These pay and play sessions are carried out on a third of the ice. They consist of skating drills, puck handling and mini-game situations. The below session must be pre-booked in advance and can be booked online.

Mondays
8:00pm-8:45pm 

Intermediate and advanced aged under 18 years.

JUNIOR AND ADULT SCRIMMAGE

Scrimmage sessions are open to players of any ability. Full hockey kit is required to participate.

Junior scrimmage sessions are available for players aged 16 and under, and Adult scrimmage sessions available for 17+
