"We have been astounded by the rate of progress made within the 6 week period. Many children were terrified at the thought of going on the ice but the vast majority made a fantastic transition to skating with considerable confidence, unaided and with a smile! They were able to get up safely using techniques taught be the NIC staff – a fantastic experience!"
"Enthusiastic coaches who engage will with the children."
"The programme has been really enjoyable for the children and the coaches have been great in supporting everyone. It has had a positive effect on their self esteem and it really has inspired our children to engage in sport."
“By the end of the programme the coaches and children knew each other well. The coaches are all very patient and helpful. The children thoroughly enjoyed it.”
"The coaches have a positive approach and the children feel at ease. They want them to do well and achieve in their skating."
"It’s great to challenge the children and put them into situations they have never experienced."

"A big thank you for this amazing opportunity - ice skating is something Alyssia as wanted to do for a very long time but due to my own fears I’ve never been able to take her, it was an amazing opportunity to go with school for me also as by going with school helped get me over my fear of the ice and I absolutely love it, even got my own certificate to prove it!”
"One of the children has dyspraxia and finds it hard to balance and be coordinated. Confidence has gone through the roof and he had gone from clinging on to the side to skating backwards!"
“A child who finds the academic side of school more challenging has thrived participating in the schools skating programme. He has demonstrated great pride in his achievements, skating willingness to have a go even when he has fallen over or found it difficult an demonstrating his resilience in this area."
“One of the boys struggles with gross motor skills and is autistic. It has been wonderful to see him progress from used a frame at the beginning of the sessions to ice skating independently.”
“A child in my class’s behaviour has improved in school due to the want to attend the ice skating lessons. He was awarded a talent id scholarship which has massively boosted his self esteem and confidence.”
“One of the girls was very nervous and had to be resilient, she’s more academic rather than ‘sporty’ so this was her out of her comfort zone – she has done so well.”
