Speed skating is a tactical and physically demanding sport, where skaters go head-to-head in races of four to six skaters in a knock-out style competition. Short track is a non-contact sport; however there are no barriers or lanes to separate the skaters, so collisions and falls in competition are quite common, making it one of the most exciting and exhilarating ice sports to get involved in.
When you’ve completed the level four skating lessons grade, you can progress onto our Learn to Speed Skate course.
If speed skating sounds like the sport for you, whether that’s for fun, fitness or performance, you can learn how to speed skate on the same ice the GB Short Track Speed Skating Team use to train on!
You can start learning to speed skate once you’ve completed the level 4 skating lessons grade.
