BOOK SKATING ONLINE
Times and Prices
Ice skating is a fun experience whatever your age or ability, and where better to give it a go than the National Ice Centre. You can skate any day of the week and we have a range of sessions to choose from – see below for our latest session times and prices. Booking online is currently unavailable for general public skating.
Parent & Toddler
Parent and Toddler skating sessions are a great family activity to enjoy with your little ones. Children aged between 18 months and five years (smallest skate size is a child’s size 5) can take to the ice, build their confidence and increase their co-ordination. Our expert coaches will be on the ice with you and your youngsters, along with our on-ice equipment characters, so they will be encouraged to learn through playing in a safe environment.
To guarantee a place we recommend contacting Box Office to book in advance, as places are limited. Please call 0843 373 3000. Booking online is currently unavailable for this session.
When the weekend arrives we’ll be turning down the lights and turning up the music! Friday night and Saturday night are our club sessions, where local DJs play top tunes while you skate under the dancing lights. Please note the on ice equipment is not available during club sessions.
Family Party Sessions
We also have a Family Party session on Saturday afternoons with low lights and music that are more suitable for family fun! On ice equipment is available to use on these sessions.
From Halloween parties to UV and foam parties, the National Ice Centre hosts a range of exciting events throughout the year – check out our forthcoming events for details of our next party night!
Disabled Inclusion Sessions
We offer ice skating opportunities for people with disabilities and their families. Depending on individual requirements, the ice can be accessed on skates, in a wheelchair or in one of our purpose built sledges (sledges must be booked in advanced). Coaches are on hand throughout to provide support. Structured lessons and one-on-one coaching are also available separately.
Group Ice Skating
Ice skating is fun and it’s even better with a group of friends or colleagues. Discounted rates are available for groups of ten or more, and bespoke catering options can be provided upon request.
To discuss your requirements in more detail, email or contact our Group Sales Executive on 0115 853 3137.
Please note: For the discounted rates to apply, groups must be booked for 10 or more people, pre-booked in advance via our Group Sales Executive and payment must be made in one installment.
The National Ice Centre rink can be hired exclusively for corporate events or recreational ice sports activities. For further information email our Group Sales Executive or call 0115 853 3137.

Learn to ice skate on the very same site where Nottingham legends Jayne Torvill & Christopher Dean once trained. Skating lessons at the National Ice Centre are available to people of all ages and abilities. Lessons can be carried out intensively over three days during the school holidays or over a six-week period and are available to book online now!
The skating courses consist of eight grades. Each grade must be completed before moving to the next.
Tots skating lessons are also available for children aged under 5 (we recommend a minimum age of 24 months). Our experienced coaches will take your little ones from learning to stand on the ice to fully fledged skaters.
Certificates, badges and records of achievement are available to purchase upon successful completion of each grade – more information can be found here.
Our skating courses are backed by the National Ice Skating Association (NISA) – the UK Governing Body of British Ice Skating and your training will be carried out by professional coaches.
